Volume Confirms Participation

A breakout shows price movement. Volume helps show participation.
When price crosses an important level, traders often look for evidence that the move is supported by broad activity rather than a short-lived burst on one venue.
Useful checks include:
- Volume relative to the asset's recent average
- Spot participation across multiple exchanges
- Whether buying or selling persists after the breakout
- Changes in order-book liquidity
- Confirmation from related assets or market sectors
High volume does not guarantee continuation, and low volume does not automatically invalidate a move. It is one layer of evidence within a larger market framework.
Market indicators are probabilistic and should not be treated as guarantees.
